GUBBIO – Questa mattina (venerdì 14 ottobre), è stata presentata la 26° edizione della Biennale di Scultura di Gubbio, mostra che sarà visibile a Palazzo Ducale dal 15 ottobre 2016 al 15 gennaio 2017. L’inaugurazione della mostra si svolgerà a Palazzo Ducale sabato 15 ottobre.
Il sindaco Filippo Mario Stirati ha voluto portare i saluti della città, ricordando l’importanza dell’evento: “Porto i saluti delle istituzioni. Quest’edizione della Biennale è significativa, in quanto ricorre il 60° anniversario della prima edizione della mostra. La nostra ambizione è quella di ricollegarci alla tradizione, cercando di inserire elementi di novità, grazie ai giovani talenti che sono in contatto con le botteghe artigiane.
Quest’anno celebriamo anche due figure molto importanti dell’arte come Nella Guidi e Mirella Bentivoglio. La novità istituzionale è che si è creata una sinergia tra enti locali, Soprintendenza e Palazzo Ducale che tempo fa non sarebbe successo. Dal punto di vista economico non è né semplice né scontato, ma nel nostro programma uno dei nostri obiettivi era quello di rilanciare quest’iniziativa, poiché è un impegno che abbiamo preso con la città ed un investimento per il futuro. Ho sempre pensato che Palazzo Ducale fosse perfetto per ospitare opere di arte contemporanea”.

Anche l’assessore Augusto Ancillotti, rifacendosi alle parole del sindaco, ha affermato: “Come ha detto il sindaco, il nostro programma era di recuperare la Biennale, anche perché per qualche periodo è saltata, visto che la prima edizione si è svolta 60 anni fa e quest’anno siamo alla 26° edizione.
Ringrazio tutti coloro che ci hanno sostenuto ed aiutato, ad esempio il Palazzo Ducale che ospita le opere, le Accademie di Belle Arti di Perugia ed altre città nazionali ed internazionali presenti, poiché il futuro è dei giovani, nonostante siano presenti grandi nomi”.
La Dott.ssa Graziella Cirri ha spiegato più nel dettaglio la mostra: “Noi volevamo lanciare un progetto di qualità e che fosse la base per il futuro. Per puntare alla qualità, personaggi molto importanti della critica d’arte hanno scelto insieme e condiviso i 16 artisti che troveremo a Palazzo Ducale, grazie anche a coloro che hanno organizzato i concorsi e gli workshop che saranno svolti alla mostra.
Il Ministero ha scelto i progetti culturalmente più validi, il nostro progetto è rientrato in un ambito nazionale che aveva l’obiettivo di scegliere i progetti che avessero un carattere internazionale. Abbiamo artisti sia italiani che stranieri e vogliamo che la mostra sia una vetrina per i giovani talenti.
L’esperienza che questi ragazzi hanno potuto fare nei laboratori eugubini è impagabile. Credo che per il territorio eugubino avere questi ragazzi italiani e stranieri sia stato un arricchimento anche per il territorio stesso. La Biennale ha sempre puntato al futuro ed avrà il prestigio che merita, in quanto è la seconda Biennale più antica dopo quella di Venezia”.

Presentation of the 26° edition of the Biennale exhibition of Gubbio
This morning, the 26° edition of the Biennale exhibition of Sculpture of Gubbio has been introduced, show that will be visible to the Ducal Building, from October 15 th 2016 to January 15 2017. The inauguration of the show will develop, in the Palazzo Ducale, tomorrow, Saturday 15 October to the 16.30.
The Mayor Filippo Mario Stirati has wanted to bring the regards of the city, remembering the importance of the event for the city: “First of all, I bring the regards of the institutions. This edition of the Biennale exhibition is meaningful, because the 60° anniversary of the first edition of the show applies. Our ambition is that to connect us to the tradition, trying to insert elements of novelty, thanks to the young talents that are in contact with the artisan shops that I thank.
This year we also celebrate two very important figures of the art as Nella Guidi and Mirella Bentivoglio. The institutional novelty is that a synergy is created among local corporate body, Superintendence and Palazzo Ducale that it a long time ago would not have happened. From the economic point of view it is not neither simple nor discounted, but in our program one of our objectives were that to launch this initiative, since it is an appointment that we have taken with the city and an investment for the future. I have always thought that Ducal Building was perfect to entertain works of contemporary art”.

Also the councillor Augusto Ancillotti, recalling himself the words of the Mayor, he has wanted to spend two words to respect: “As the Mayor has said, our program was to recover the Biennale exhibition, also because for some period it is jumped, considering that the first edition is developed 60 years ago and this year we are to the 26° edition.
I thank all those people who have sustained us and helped, for instance the Palazzo Ducale that entertains the works, the Academies of Belle Arti of Perugia and other cities national and international presents, since the future is of the young people, despite great names will be present“.
The Dott.ssa Graziella Cirri has explained more in the detail the show: “We wanted to launch a project of quality and that pits the base for the future. To aim to the quality, very important characters of the criticism of art have chosen together and shared the 16 artists that we will find to Palazzo Ducale, thanks also to those people who have organized the contests and the workshops that will be developed to the show.

The Ministry has culturally chosen the more valid projects, our project has entered in a national circle that had the objective to choose the projects that had an international character. We have artists both Italian and foreigners and we want the show to be a showcase for the young talents. The experience that these boys have been able to do in the laboratories of Gubbio is priceless.
I believe that for the territory of Gubbio to have these Italian boys and foreigners has also been an enrichment for the same territory. The Biennale exhibition has always aimed to the future and it will have the prestige that deserves, in how much the second is most ancient Biennale exhibition after that of Venice”.
