Tertulliano Marzani raccontò la Festa dei Ceri in articoli importanti
GUBBIO – Gubbio ricorda Tertulliano Marzani. La rinnovata Casa di Sant’Ubaldo ha ospitato un convegno in occasione del 50° anniversario della scomparsa del giornalista che, nella sua carriera, ha raccontato la Festa dei Ceri con articoli suggestivi e d’altri tempi.
Il sindaco Filippo Mario Stirati ha aperto il convegno esprimendo la sua gratitudine per l’invito ricevuto: “Grazie al presidente del Maggio Eugubino Lucio Lupini, un saluto carissimo a tutti voi presenti. È una bella iniziativa dedicata ad un giornalista che purtroppo è prematuramente scomparso, che non ho avuto la possibilità di conoscere. Tuttavia, ho avuto il tempo per poterne conoscere le bellissime pagine, i testi, gli articoli, le riflessioni che questa notevole penna ha dedicato anche alla nostra città, alla Festa dei Ceri.

Credo che l’occasione promossa oggi sia quanto mai opportuna e appropriata. Da tempo abbiamo intrapreso un lavoro interessante sulla città, in particolare sulla Festa dei Ceri, ritenendo che occorra fare un grande sforzo di carattere culturale, di riflessione, di documentazione, di approfondimento anche in vista di quell’obiettivo che mai abbiamo abbandonato del riconoscimento Unesco.
Grazie anche al contributo di altre fondazioni, abbiamo attivato un museo multimediale della Festa dei Ceri ed inaugurato un centro di documentazione sulla Festa.
Questo ci permette di possedere un ricchissimo patrimonio a disposizione della città, dei cittadini, ma anche degli studiosi, dei giovani e degli studenti. Iniziative come questa rappresentano non solo un omaggio di memoria, di riconoscimento e di apprezzamento per un grande giornalista, ma anche un tassello ulteriore che aggiungiamo a questo lavoro di sedimentazione di tutto un patrimonio importante in relazione alla Festa dei Ceri”.

Lucio Lupini, presidente del Maggio Eugubino, promotore dell’iniziativa, ha affermato: “Abbiamo immediatamente aderito a quest’iniziativa. Da quando il Maggio Eugubino è nato, nel 1950, si è sempre voluto occupare di tutte gli eventi di maggio. Poi siamo andati oltre e ci siamo impegnati tutto l’anno su diverse iniziative. Uno degli impegni forti è proprio quello di collaborare e contribuire alla cultura ceraiola.
La lettura di queste pagine di Tertulliano è veramente interessante, a me hanno colpito due frasi sulla nostra Festa: ‘I Ceri sono scrigni che salgono verso il monte’ e ‘La Festa dei Ceri non è una festa, ma è un mistero‘”.

Paolo Marzani, anch’egli giornalista nonché figlio di Tertulliano, ha ricordato il padre e parlato di un lavoro di raccolta di articoli che ha curato in prima persona: “Innanzitutto ringrazio tutta la città che quest’oggi è rappresentata con le sue massime istituzioni. Ringrazio il vescovo Mario Ceccobelli, che per me rimarrà sempre Don Mario, il Maggio Eugubino e la rivista ‘L’Eugubino’ di Ubaldo Gini col quale siamo rimasti sempre in contatto.
Questa rivista ha creduto a quest’operazione, riconoscendo con entusiasmo il valore di questa raccolta che ha estratto dal libro, pubblicato una decina di anni fa, nella quale ho raccolto in maniera ragionata l’intera opera giornalistica di mio padre, realizzando un elegante opuscolo che è stato allegato al giornale.
Questo opuscolo ci consente di celebrare proprio qui a Gubbio i cinquant’anni dalla morte di mio padre. Devo dire che questa scelta di Gubbio, per me e per la mia famiglia, sia particolarmente significativa, poiché Tertulliano Marziani era innamorato di Gubbio. È questa città che ha dato l’imprinting, la formazione, la sensibilità a quello che poi fu da tutti riconosciuto come maestro del giornalismo umbro e non solo”.

Anche Roberto Conticelli, presidente dell’Ordine di Giornalisti Umbria, ha voluto ricordare Marzani: “Tertulliano è la testimonianza che il giornalismo fatto con amore non c’è più. È vero il giornalismo di oggi non è come in passato. Attualmente, si gioca sui tempi non sulla qualità, ma nonostante questo sarebbe stato una gran giornalista anche oggi.
La notizia la fa chi arriva prima, chi è più veloce, ma di fronte agli articoli di Tertulliano non c’è velocità che tenga. È sbagliato parlare di più giornalismi, poiché il giornalismo è uno solo capace di raccontare i fatti, avvicinare il lettore ed entrare nella vicenda e Tertulliano era un maestro in questo”.

Gubbio remembers Tertulliano Marzani. The renewed House of Sant’Ubaldo has entertained a conference on the occasion of the 50° anniversary of the death of the journalist that, in his career, he has told the Festa dei Ceri with suggestive articles.
The Mayor Filippo Mario Stirati has opened the conference expressing his gratitude for the received invitation: “Thanks to the president of Maggio Eugubino Lucio Lupini, an expensive regard to all you present. It is a beautiful initiative devoted to a journalist that unfortunately has prematurely disappeared, that have not had the possibility to know.
Nevertheless, I have had the time to be able to know his beautiful pages, the texts, the articles, the reflections that this notable pen has also devoted to our city to the Festa dei Ceri. I believe that the occasion promoted today both how much never opportune and appropriate.

For a long time we have undertaken an interesting job on the city, particularly on the Festa dei Ceri, believing that it needs to make a great effort of cultural character, of reflection, of documentation, of close examination also in sight of that objective that we have never abandoned of the recognition Unesco. Thanks also to the contribution of other foundations, we have activated a museum of the Festa dei Ceri and inaugurated a centre of documentation on the Festa.
This allows us to possess a rich disposition patrimony of the city, of the citizens, but also of the researchers, of the young people and of the students. Initiatives as this they not only represent a homage of memory, of recognition and of appreciation for a great journalist, but also a further wedge that we add to this job of sedimentation of all one extremely important patrimony in relationship to the Festa dei Ceri“.

Lucio Lupini, as president of Maggio Eugubino, promoter of the initiative to tell two words respect: “We have immediately stuck to this initiative. From when the Maggio Eugubino was born, in 1950, it is always wanted to deal with all the events of May. Then we have gone over and the whole year we are busy on different initiatives.
One of the strong commitments are really that to collaborate and to contribute to the culture of Ceri. The reading of these pages of Tertulliano is really interesting, I have struck two sentences on our party: “The Ceri are caskets that climb toward the mountain” and “The Festa dei Ceri is not a party, but it is a mystery“.

Paolo Marzani, journalist as well as child of Tertulliano, has remembered his father and spoken of a job of collection of articles that has taken care of himself: “I first of all thank the whole city that this today is represented with its maximum institutions. I thank the bishop Ceccobelli, that for me will always remain Don Mario, the Maggio Eugubino and the magazine “The Eugubino” of Ubaldo Gini with which we have always remained in contact.
This magazine has believed in this operation, recognizing with enthusiasm the value of this harvest that has extracted from the book, published ago about ten years, in which have picked up in reasoned way the whole journalistic work of my father, realizing an elegant brochure that has been attached to the newspaper. This brochure allows us to celebrate, really here in Gubbio, the fifty years from the death of my father.
I must say that this choice of Gubbio, for me and for my family, is particularly meaningful, since Tertulliano Marziani was in love of Gubbio. It is this city that has given the imprinting, the formation, the sensibility to that that was then from all recognized as teacher of the journalism of Umbria and not only”.

Also Roberto Conticelli, president of the Order of Journalists Umbria, has wanted to remember Marzani: “Tertulliano is the testimony that the journalism done with love there is not more. It’s true, today’s journalism is not as in the past. Currently, it is based on the times and not on the quality, but despite this he would also have been a great big journalist today.
Those who arrive before, who are faster, make the news, but in front of the articles of Tertulliano there is no speed that holds. It is wrong saying that there are more journalisms, since the journalism is unique, because it is able to tell the facts, to approach the reader and to enter the story and Tertulliano was a teacher in this“.
